All we care about are Runway Models, Cadillacs, and Liquor Bottles… Part II

Little update on project “Revontuni“… I’ve been playing around with the idea in my free time and it’s coming along!  I really like the progress of the overall concept (thanks again Will).  I keep adjusting colors, graphics placement, and some other things, but it’s got a good feel to it.  I really look forward to making a ceramic model sometime in the near future and I really really want to make a working glass version.  If anyone has any clue how to do this… we need to talk!

One thing does keep bothering me though… the top.  I can’t decide how I want to approach it.  I like the current setup, but I just see it  being a total problem in real life.  I’m a sucker for practicality once and while and this is one of those moments.  That’s usually a major clue it needs improvement, but only a model will give me that answer.  Like anything conceptual, you never quite know how something is going to work until you turn conceptual into real.  Here is the latest color scheme I’ve worked on.  Sorry about the lack of watercolor skill.  I try.  It’s mostly frosted glass, but there will be some clear glass parts to it.  I really hope to take advantage of the textual differences that glass makes available.

Earlier Experiences in Other Media

In this group is a collection of other media I have worked with. Much of this group is work from my earlier years. During elementary and middle school I was very active in creating sketches/charcoal-pastel drawings/watercolors/etc. In fact, the watercolor painting labeled faces was awarded a silver award and displayed as part of Pentel’s Children Art Exhibition in 1995.

Collegiate Painting

A little this… A little that

After my first two years of college and my time over seas, I returned back to the US very upbeat about exploring new forms of media outside the world of photography. Although it was not always easy managing parallel lives as both a literature major and a faux studio art major, I found refuge in exploring new forms of media. In particular, I found painting a great way to relax. After all, you can only read/write for so long before you lose your mind. More importantly, I enjoyed the challenge of learning new skills.
