8.25.2011 Switched to WordPress Jetpack for Plugin administration

8.4.2011 Changed the Blog’s Theme to WordPress’ very own Twenty Eleven.  Very promising theme.

2.24.2011 Upgraded to Word Press 3.1

12.9.2010 Upgraded to Word Press 3.0.3

12.1.2010 Upgraded to Word Press 3.0.2

11.4.2010 Updated theme to version 1.3.

6.1.2010 Major site update after the photo galleries crashed because of too many java scripts running.  Removed NextGEN Galleries and Cincopa Galleries in favor of much nicer self-hosted Jalbum Galleries.  Also integrated Grey Box script in conjunction with new gallery script.

4.28.2010 Added a set of plugins that allow me to create nice galleries.  NextGEN Gallery and a modified viewer, NextGEN Smooth.

4.25.2010 Updated a bunch of Word Press Plugins and refreshed the copy of the About Page.  Also opened the Portfolio Page, but it is no where near complete.

4.7.2010 Refreshed resume with latest version, updated current music, went through submitted comments.  Amazed at the number of Russian spammers.  I mean really?

4.3.2010 Attempting to increase readership/traffic through the addition of the Postalicious plugin.

2.22.2010 Upgraded to Word Press 2.9.2

2.8.2010 Signed up for Twitter?!?  Added new widget.  Not completely happy with it, but it’s a start.

1.20.2010 Changed the way Word Press organizes pages. Instead of /?page=# or /?post=#, the blog is organized under a /category/year/postname and /pagename for static pages. Hopefully this will help with the site’s overall SEO. Googlebot is a tricky thing and anything you can do to make your site “look” more organized, the better you will score. Also changed the homesites photo slideshow. Hopefully this makes it less distracting for smaller screens. I may further reduce it.

1.18.2010 Major resume update.  Also added Youtube video to All good things must come to an end…

1.7.2009 Added Portfolio Reel. Needs to be cut and perfected, but not to shabby for a draft!

1.6.2010 Registered BrianDavidJoyner.com with Google’s Web Developement Tools.  Hopefully this will help Google update its info about the page more frequently.  Also added an automated Sitemap builder in order to give Google/Bing/Yahoo a better map to crawl.  Also updated to Word Press 2.9.1.

12.29.2009 Major Updates!  Added email notification with Subscribe2 Plugin, changed layout of sidebar, and some general cleanup of the site.

12.27.2009 Created secondary Word Press blog dedicated to cycling: http://cycling.briandavidjoyner.com. The plan is to use this space to focus on creating a video blog focusing on reviews, how-to’s, stories from the road, etc.  It’s in planning phase, but expect it to be up soon!

12.20.2009 Updated Word Press to 2.9 and updated my resume/about info.

12.8.2009 Considering update on design after getting some much needed feedback.  Discontinued Clicky Analytics.

11.14.2009 Upgrade to Word Press 2.8.6.  Attempting to use Clicky Analytics with little success.

11.5.2009 Added a new page, “Current Music.”  I have always enjoyed music and I can’t live without it.  If I could do nothing but travel the world with my mp3 player, a bunch of cameras, and my backpack, I would do it in a second.  That is not going to happen, but that doesn’t mean I can’t still have a soundtrack for my life!

11.1.2009 Decided to scrap Lightbox 2 and use a jQuery type image plugin.  It’s a simple switch and easy enough to integrate.  The Lightbox 2 plugin looks better for the second, but it gave me no control over image size.  That’s no good and I don’t have the knowhow to change the script.  The only real disadvantage is I have to check each gallery and change all non-gallery images with a rel=”lightbox” value.  No biggie, found a plugin that does that for me.   Thank you random nice people who know javascript and publish your work for free!  Have a new opening sequence planned out, but it requires flash.  I’m kinda looking forward to playing around with that!  Also digging the new update with Word Press plus I added Google’s Analytic service to the site.

10.27.2009 Successfully integrated Lightbox 2 java image plugin! This replaces Floatbox, which never worked as I liked. Changing plugins brings on a new issue, image size.

10.26.2009 Added warning about portfolio. It really needs to be properly designed. It’s on the “to-do” list! I have my idea for an intro page and just need to figure out how to make it work.

10.21.2009 Updated Word Press to 2.8.5

10.14.2009 Updated the “About” page and posted a few new ideas under “spec ads.” Working on potential new intro pages and hope on creating something soon. Adobe Flash may be involved.

9.30.2009 Finally located bridge files and project workbook. Created new post, but need to go and get some better pictures… kinda embarrassing for someone who lives through a camera. Also brainstorming ideas for logo and some re-organization pending running some ideas past a few people.

9.21.2009 Played around with widget selection and placement. Added search widget, recent post widget, and admin widget in order to allow easier navigation for user.

9.18.2009 Attempted to adapt new gallery plugin to resolve issue with having to close lightbox to gain access to the next photo. Epic fail. Re-activated current plugin and hope to contact its programer later for some help. Also published photo entry from Pacific North West.

09.17.2009 Re-organization of site layout to minimize pages and take advantage of categories feature. Hopefully this will help keep the site more compact without a loss of functionality. The portfolio page was modified with there being some additions and a re-organization of how things are presented. Also added new photo sets: Europe 2008, July 4th 2009, Jump. Still having issues with floatbox as a gallery plugin.
